Cops nab 11, including four Customs officers, seize RM14mil worth of drugs
KUALA LUMPUR: Police busted a drug smuggling syndicate with the arrest of 11 people, including four Customs department officers and seizure of RM14mil worth of drugs.
It is learnt the Customs officers were collaborating with international drug syndicates to smuggle drugs into the country.
Others seized in the operation were four Nigerians and one Indian national, who were members of the syndicate.
Deputy IGP Datuk Seri Bakri Zinin said police uncover the syndicate following a series of raids in Nilai and the Klang Valley between Dec 14 and Dec 16.
"We believe they have been in operation for about a year.
"We expect to make more arrests soon," he told a press conference in Bukit Aman Tuesday.
