WASHINGTON: During a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, US President Donald Trump confirmed Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenskyy will visit the White House on Friday.
A few days ago, Trump said the visit would see Zelenskyy sign the much-awaited mineral deal of the US.
Trump has now stated that it "would be a very big deal," without giving further details. The president added that the deal would allow the US to "get our money back".
"And we're going to get a lot of money in the future, and I think that's justified, because our taxpayers shouldn't have to bear the cost," he said.
"Everything has been settled."
He also stressed that a peace agreement is likely to follow after that. - Agency
