KLIA Shooting Suspect Hafizul Harawi remanded for seven days.


The Kota Bharu Magistrate's Court here, today, allowed the suspect suspected of opening fire at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport Arrivals Hall (KLIA) last weekend to be remanded for seven days.

The remand order today until April 22 (Monday) was issued by Chief Justice Imran Hamid to allow investigations to be carried out on the suspect.

Before that, the suspect who was wearing a purple lockup shirt was taken to the Kota Bharu Court Complex with a strict escort of police officers around 8.30 this morning.

 "I will cooperate with the police," said the suspect who opened fire at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 Arrival Hall in Sepang early yesterday morning.

When met at the Kota Bharu Court yard here, the 38 year old man looked calm and also greeted the media group there.

After 36 hours on the run, Hafizul was successfully detained at around 3 pm last night in front of a private hospital on Jalan Bayam by troops from Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Khas (D9), Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah (JSJ) Kelantan Contingent.

When he was detained, according to sources, the suspect was alone and there was a struggle, apart from that the police also confiscated a gun from the man.
