Two flights diverted, one turned back following continuous torrential rain

KUALA LUMPUR: Three south-bound flights were affected by the continuous downpour earlier today.
A spokesperson from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) confirmed that two flights from Subang, which were heading to Seletar Airport in Singapore, were diverted to Johor.
"One more flight, from Kuala Lumpur to Johor had to turn back," said the spokesperson when contacted.
Earlier today, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) had issued a danger-level continuous torrential rain warning for Kluang, Mersing, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru in Johor until the day after tomorrow.
MetMalaysia said severe-level continuous heavy rain was also expected to hit Pekan and Rompin in Pahang, as well as Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat and Pontian in Johor.
The Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) also issued warning for possible flash floods over the next 12 hours for several districts in Johor and Sarawak.
The warnings were based on rain forecasts by MetMalaysia, Southeastern Asia-Oceania Flash Flood Guidance System (SAOFFGS) and DID's flood forecast model
