Malaysians do not need to be quarantined to enter India

KUALA LUMPUR: Travelers from Malaysia who have been fully vaccinated will not have to undergo quarantine to enter India effective Monday (Feb 14), according to the Indian High Commission to Malaysia.
In addition, the pre-flight COVID-19 RT-PCR Test is also not mandatory for fully vaccinated travelers arriving in India from Malaysia.
“As the world’s largest vaccination driver, starting with India’s Aatmanirbhar vaccine, and the COVID-19 protocol in place, India is easing travel restrictions for tourists coming to India from Malaysia.
"The High Commission of India prays for safety and an unforgettable experience in India for Malaysian travelers," the High Commission said in a Facebook post.
Although there is no joint official recognition of the COVID-19 certification signed between Malaysia and India, both governments recognize vaccination certificates in diplomatic practice and in the field.

According to a report on CNN Travel, recipients of WHO -recognized vaccines or in countries that have a joint recognition agreement of vaccine certificates with India do not have to submit tests upon arrival effective Monday.
As of Feb. 10, the list covers 82 countries including the United States (US) and the United Kingdom (UK) and those who do not qualify still have to take the test.
The report also stated that starting Monday, there was no quarantine upon arrival and international passengers were asked to "self -monitor their health" for 14 days after arrival.
