Health minister's wife appointed the new Director General of Education
PUTRAJAYA- The wife of Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba has been appointed as the new Director General of Education Malaysia (KPPM).
The Ministry of Education (MOE) through a statement on Friday informed that the appointment of Nor Zamani Binti Abdol Hamid took effect on June 22.
The statement said, Nor Zamani, 59, is the 18th KPPM and the third woman appointed to take on the responsibility.
"He started his service in the world of education in 1986 as the Head of the A-Level Department at Tunku Kurshiah College, Negeri Sembilan. During his 35 years of service, he has also served in various organizations in the MOE," the statement said.
The statement also mentioned that among the positions he has held are Deputy Director General of Education Malaysia (Policy and Curriculum Sector), Director of Curriculum Development Division and Director of Private Education Division.
“She holds a Bachelor (Hons) in Sociology and Anthropology and a Master of Education from the University of Malaya.
"KPM is confident that he will be able to shoulder the responsibility as a leader in education services and further improve KPM's performance in achieving the country's educational aspirations," according to the statement.
