SHAH ALAM, July 28 -- The COVID-19 Assessment Centre (CAC) for Klang district at the Klang Sports Hall in Taman Sri Andalas will cease operations tomorrow (July 29) and be moved to the Port Klang Multipurpose Hall on Friday (July 30).
The Klang District Health Office (PKD) said the CAC operation at the Klang Sports Hall would stop operating at 12 noon tomorrow before beginning operations at the new location on Friday at 8.30 am.
“The Port Klang Multipurpose Hall has been chosen as the new Klang district CAC based on its location which is far from residential areas. This will reduce traffic congestions and facilitate the staff and patients at the CAC,” according to a statement by the Klang PKD today.
It also thanked the local residents as well as the government and non-government agencies that had given their cooperation and assistance in the CAC’s operations at the Klang Sports Hall in Taman Sri Andalas.
The media had previously reported allegations that the CAC at the Klang Sports Hall in Taman Sri Andalas, which began operations on July 12, was not suitable as it was too close to residents’ houses as well as too near to the main entrance to and exit route from the area.
On July 13, Selangor Health director Datuk Dr Sha'ari Ngadiman said the Klang district CAC would be moved within two weeks as the Selangor State Health Office had identified a suitable location.
