Foreign prostitutes charge RM1,000 per hour, use condos to offer sex services
KUALA LUMPUR - Nine foreign women suspected of being prostitutes were arrested in six police raids here yesterday.
Dang Wangi District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said, all of them are between 21 and 38 years old.
"Preliminary investigation found that all the arrests earned a daily income of between RM3,000 to RM6,000 a day with customers being charged RM1,000 for each hour of sex services," he said in a statement today.
The nine foreign women included two from Uzbekistan, two from the Philippines, two from Belarus, one from Russia, one from Iran and one from Ukraine.
Mohamad Zainal informed that the raid was carried out at a condominium in Jalan Sultan Ismail.
Among the items confiscated from the condominium room and seized by the police were 26 condoms, five bottles of various brands of lubricants, 13 units of mobile phones of various brands, five sex toys, seven access cards, foreign currency USD 1,900 and RM31,513.
Further investigations were made under Section 372B, Penal Code, Section 6 (1) (c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 and Section 15 (1) (c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
Therefore, he requested the cooperation of the community to channel information on prostitution activities around the Dang Wangi area by calling 03-26002222 or the Kuala Lumpur Police hotline at 03-21159999 or any nearby police station.
