1. Test kits sensitivity must be more than 80% & specificity more than 97%
2. When the health system is overburdened
3. When the turnaround time for RT PCR is more than 48-72 hrs or if RT-PCR test not available
4. RTK-Ag should be conducted by trained operator & for best results the tests should be performed within the first 5 - 7 days following onset of symptoms
5. More specific for new cluster with high positivity rate & when concordance study show PPV, high specificity
