KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 -- All arrivals from abroad at Sarawak check points are required to undergo the compulsory 14-day quarantine at the quarantine centres stipulated by the state government effective yesterday.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said those involved are also required to undergo swab test on the second and 10th days.
"The cost of quarantine for Sarawakians would be fully borne by the state government while non-Sarawak residents would have to bear the cost themselves," he said in a statement on RMCO today.
Malaysians who arrived at Sarawak entry points would be allowed to enter without the need to quarantine. They are however required to fill a health declaration form online (e-HDF) which could downloaded from the website, https://sarawakdisastermc.com/ earlier.
In this regard, Ismail Sabri said since July 24 until yesterday, 21,217 individuals have returned home at international check points.
All of them have been placed at 70 hotels and four public training institutes in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Penang, Johor, Sarawak, Kelantan, Perak, Kedah, Perlis, Terengganu, Sabah and Labuan.
He said from the total, 8,801 individuals are undergoing compulsory quarantine while 66 individuals have been sent to hospital for treatment and 12,350 individuals are allowed to return home.
They are from 32 countries namely Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Singapore, Vietnam, Brunei, Qatar, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, India, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Japan, Turkey, South Korea, Iran, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Timor Leste, Taiwan, China, United Kingdom, Holland, Papua New Guinea, Egypt, Spain, France, Australia, New Zealand and the United States.
On the Compliance Task Force operations, Ismail Sabri said police detained 39 individuals for defying the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).
“From the total, 27 were issued compounds while seven were remanded and five granted bail.
“Among the offences included failure to provide gadget to record entry and exit (six), not wearing face mask (13), premises opening past operating hours (five), employing illegal foreign workers (five) as well as activities involving large crowd difficult for physical distancing (10).
On Operasi Benteng, he said police held 62 roadblocks nationwide and inspected 27,379 vehicles to curb the entry of illegal immigrants especially rate trails but there was no arrest made.
