The Health Ministry announced 1,178 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Thursday, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 50,187.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, the ministry’s disease control and prevention director general, Achmad Yurianto, added that 47 more people had died of the disease, bringing the death toll to 2,620.
The total number of recovered patients has also increased to 20,449.
The capital city recorded 196 new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 10,600. Meanwhile, East Java reported 247 new cases, South Sulawesi 103, North Maluku 80, and Central Java 78.
The virus has spread to all of the country's 34 provinces. (dfr/mfp)
