The Health Ministry announced 1,113 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 49,009.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the ministry’s disease control and prevention director general, Achmad Yurianto, added that 38 more people had died of the disease, bringing the death toll to 2,573.
The total number of recovered patients has also increased to 19,658.
The capital city recorded 157 new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 10,404. Meanwhile, East Java reported 183 new cases, South Sulawesi 132, North Maluku 95, and South Kalimantan 90.
The virus has spread to all of the country's 34 provinces. (dfr/mfp)
