The Health Ministry announced 1,051 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 47,896.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, the ministry’s disease control and prevention director general, Achmad Yurianto, added that 35 more people had died of the disease, bringing the death toll to 2,535.
The total number of recovered patients has also increased to 19,241.
The capital city recorded 160 new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 10,115. Meanwhile, East Java reported 258 new cases, South Sulawesi 154, North Sumatra 117, and Papua 55.
