Last Thursday, a few of us went to the Lemon Garden @ Shangri-la Hote for a discussion and decided to sample their latest dine-in Hari Raya set menu
Lemon Garden is undoubtedly one of the top restaurants in Malaysia, famed for it's high quality Buffet. They used to have a variety of choices with Chinese, Indian, Western, Japanese, Italian, Salads, Seafood and Dessert Sections at their buffet. Each section loaded with an array of delicious dishes
So with buffets totally not allowed during this pandemic, they are serving you a feast at your table! Every diner gets his own portion to ensure you don't have to share or move around.
This concept should also be new to their staff but they seem to be coping and doing a good job. I noticed The F&B Director was around to ensure all the diners were well taken care off.
(The Shangri-La is one of the few hotels, where the senior management still make their presence felt every single night. At some new hotels, you rarely see the senior management (mostly expats) after 5pm, they prefer to leave customers with Junior Management, in the end they never know their guest personally.)
Back to the food......
If you like Lamb then you have to try Menu C, the Lamb Shank Briyani is quite mouth watering and tasty. (One of my guest Dato MS didn't talk too much for 15 minutes and quietly finished off his Lamb Shank Briyani)
The Ikan Barramundi Masak Gulai Cili Api was very tasty too.
My personal favourite was the Ayam Kapitan Berkentang and Sayur Londeh. The combination was really delicious! The Sayur Londeh got a big thumbs up by all.
Another one of my guest enjoyed her Ketupat and Lemang Pulut tray finishing that off first. The Serunding Ikan melted in your mouth.
Irrespective of which Menu you order, you will get all the dishes in Menu A :
- Ketupat and Lemang Pulut Tray & Serunding Ikan, 7/10
- Ayam Kapitan Berkentang, 9/10
- Sayur Lodeh and 9/10
- Ikan Barramundi. 8/10
If you choose:
Menu B - In addition to the above item's in Menu A you will get Daging Rendang 8/10 & Nasi Tomato 7/10
and with
Menu C - In addition to the above item's in Menu B you will you get Lamb Shank Briyani 8/10
All the three Menu's ...A. B or C comes with Dessert 6/10 and Drinks 9/10 too!.
The Dessert platter was a little too small for my liking and could be improved, with some better choices of Malay Kuih Muih & more slices of fruit,..... but it was still alright.
( I guess being at Shangri-La, the expectation on everything is higher.)
-You get unlimited servings of chilled juices (Orange. Mango & Pineapple) and Air Bandung.
(Being an "air bandung" expert i did complain that it was too watery and not the usual sweet stuff, but then again , now days everyone have their own recipe. Chefs please stick to the traditional deliciously sweet Air Bandung!)
-You also get a choice of Tea or Coffee, Latte or Cappuccino to wash it all down.
( I had a good cup of Cappuccino that really hit the spot!)
Now for the Price ..... - RM50.00 for Menu A,..... RM75.00 for Menu B and .....RM100.00 for Menu C, all said and done,...... for this price, ..... for the above fare and with drinks included...... This Hari Raya Set Menu Offer is Simply An Awesome Deal!.
