Pictures of application forms, letter of Zuraida joining Bersatu are fake, says aide

PETALING JAYA: Photographs of application forms of PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin joining Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia being circulated have been declared as fake.
Zuraida's political secretary Nor Hizwan Ahmad, in a statement on Monday (Jan 20), said images of the forms and a letter purportedly addressed to Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad of her intention to join Bersatu are false.
"It is clear that it is false and seems to be the result of amateurish and malicious attempts of certain parties that wish to take advantage of the current political situation within the party.
"I am informed that the letter had carried the letterhead of the Housing and Local Government Ministry. Such actions are irresponsible as it linked the ministry to political issues," he said.
Earlier on Monday, Zuraida had quashed talk that she will be joining Bersatu should she be sacked from the party.
"Join Bersatu? Who said that? You can't be listening to rumours," she said.
She, however, admitted to meeting officials from Bersatu.
"But (the meeting) is not on that issue (of joining the party). Work issues, yes (I have met them)," she said.
PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail announced on Jan 17 that the party had issued a show-cause letter to Zuraida.
The party had received a complaint concerning Zuraida after the conclusion of the PKR congress in Melaka in December last year.
Asked if she has responded to the show-cause letter, Zuraida, who is the Housing and Local Government Minister, said she has the time to do so.
