Police arrest six teenagers in gang fight over girl in Seri Kembangan

SERDANG: A group of boys who were playing basketball in Seri Kembangan were attacked by another group of teenagers due to a dispute over a girl.
The victims suffered various injuries while some of their belongings were also missing following the attack, which occurred at about 10.30pm on Wednesday (Jan 1).
Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Ismadi Borhan said initial investigations revealed that the incident occurred over a girlfriend of one of the attackers.
"We believe the two groups of boys knew each other. We also don't rule out elements of gangsterism and racism in this incident," he said when contacted.
Six teenagers were detained shortly after the incident, he added.
"We also recovered some of the stolen items and we believe the case has been solved with the arrests. We also hope all parties can calm down and don't speculate further," he said.
Those detained will be remanded to assist with the investigation, ACP Ismadi said.
