SUBANG JAYA: Police have arrested five men linked to a robbery in a housing area here on Tuesday (Aug 6).

The robbery also saw the suspects abduct a Zimbabwean victim, just before a chase with the police started.

The chase lasted from SS14/4 all the way to Kuala Lumpur, near the Mid Valley area. However, the suspects successfully fled the police at the time.

The victim was later dropped off in Taman Selatan Klang at around 5.30am.

No injuries were reported. However, he was robbed off his handphone and RM26.

Investigations into the incident led to the first batch of arrests on Aug 7, where three suspects, including a woman, aged between 21 to 26 years old, were caught in Taman Bayu Tinggi, Klang. The police also located the weapon used, a tyre spanner, during the robberies.

Two more suspects were picked up by the police in Jalan Teluk Pulai, Klang, on the same day.

Investigations showed four of the suspects had previous criminal and drug related records.

The five have been remanded until Aug 13.

District OCPD Asst Comm Risikin Satiman confirmed the case.

He added that investigations are still ongoing to identify other cases.
