Abdul Azeez and brother arrested by MACC (updated)

PUTRAJAYA: Umno supreme council member Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Rahim and his brother Datuk Abdul Latiff Abdul Rahim were arrested and will be brought to court to face charges on Wednesday (Jan 16).
Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigators said that both the Baling MP and Abdul Latif were arrested in connection with investigations into graft and money-laundering, after receiving a green light to prosecute them from the Attorney General's Chambers.
The Baling MP is expected to face charges of money laundering at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court.
He was earlier seen arriving at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters at 2.55pm on Tuesday (Jan 15).
He was being investigated over allegations that he had demanded kickbacks to help interested parties secure government contracts from the previous administration.
