If you are looking for a cosy restaurant, where you can be assured of good food and service, so that you can enjoy with your special one or a private business associate without being disturbed by the rest of the people you know that comes down to the Hartamas area, then you gotta head to M Cafe & Bar. Its a cosy place so don't expect a fine dining restaurant.
This restaurant highly reputed for its tasty fare was at Plaza Damansara and just moved to the Hartamas area a month ago. It is located above Raj's Banana Leaf Restaurant

The cafe is owned by Michelle & Hanna Nawi. Right from the start I could see how passionate and proud they were of their food and drinks as they ran through the suggestions of what they were going to order for our food tasting session.
The starter we had is simply a must try, the Keropok Lekok was really tasty
The first main dish to come was the creamy salted egg stir fried chicken. Oh my.... it was so good I wanted to eat it all, but I had to stop myself as it was just our first main dish! ...and I had to share!
The rice dishes Nasi Lemak with Beef Rendang and Chicken Curry with White Steamed Rice came together next. The Chicken Curry was my personal favourite, the other reviewer Ex Miss Malaysia Betty Ann Brohier loved the beef rendang and could not stop raving about it, nearly causing us to argue whose favourite was better!

One of the best things during our review was the soup served with the rice sets, it was simply one of the best in KL, we had to order 4 more bowls for all the reviews to gulp down. A dish we usually take for granted with our chicken rice was suddenly so tasty.
We then tried the seafood Mee Hoon which was very delicious and great for those who don't eat rice. I highly recommend pairing this with the awesome chicken rendang curry, Do Try It!
M Cafe & Bar are not only famous for their Malaysian Fusion cuisine but also for their western dishes too. Their Hainanese Chicken Chop and Spaghetti Bolognaise are one of their house specialities

We sampled their Beef Pie and it was simple awesome. The pastry itself was light, fluffy and tasty. It was not soggy and just had the right balance. This was simply comfort food!
The next to come was their version of a burger which was really huge and came with a fried egg inside.
After you have ordered your food try the cocktails at this place as you wait, you will love it. Going at RM55.00 for any 3 cocktails of your choice it's a real good deal. They don't stinge on the alcohol. I can certify that they serve a pretty good Mohito, Pina Colada, Sex on The Beach and Margarita.

For Dessert we sample two heavenly items. I could die and be happy after this.
A heavenly Sago With Coconut Milk and Gula Melaka
. I then spied a brochure on the next table and challenged them to serve their chocolate lava cake. Was it bad that they didn't include it in our food tasting menu???
They took the challenge and served me what was one of the best Chocolate Lava Cakes in Kuala Lumpur. As you cut into it, the thick smooth shiny chocolate lava oozed out. The combination with the ice cream was a perfect ending to the food tasting session.

Most of what is on the Menu is Michelle's recipes and she is no doubt such a humble Chef.
We had an awesome food tasting session and we highly recommend you to visit M Cafe & Bar.
As mentioned earlier its a simple cosy restaurant with awesome food and drinks. The Space is great for private parties and functions.
I think this is going to be a popular place for those who smoke as they have a balcony on the outer side of the restaurant where you can have your nicotine fix. in between your meals as one reviewer did with her vape!
