KLANG: The man who ‘disciplined’ an odd job worker with a rattan baton and  the man who filmed the incident have turned themselves in to the police.

Aged 38 and 39, the duo was brought to the North Klang district police headquarters in Kapar here by Community Policing Malaysia founder Kuan Chee Heng at 2pm on Monday.
“I accompanied them to meet and they apologised to the victim on Sunday night. The victim accepted their apologies and forgave them,” he said when met outside the district police headquarters here.
Kuan said the whole incident was a misunderstanding caused by an exchange of words which became physical due anger.
“The two men had never tried to escape or run away, and they contacted me instead for help. However, hurting someone is a crime and they have agreed to turn themselves in,” he said, adding that he hoped people would not take matters into their own hands in any dispute.
North Klang OCPD Asst Comm Mazelan Paijan confirmed that two men had been taken into police custody.
“We have not retrieved any evidence related to the case and we will remand the two suspects on Tuesday,” he said.
The case was being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means and Section 448 of the same Code for criminal trespass.
In the Sept 6 incident, labourer Khor Meng Heong, 52, was reprimanding his wife at their house here when an elderly man who was passing by asked her what had happened.
He also gave a hard stare at Khor, which angered him.
This prompted him to shout some profanities at the elderly man.
About five minutes after the elderly man left the scene, a younger man who said he was the son of the elderly man, came into the house wielding a cane and forced Khor to kneel down before caning him.
In the one-minute, 44-second video that went viral on social media, a man was seen beating Khor in front of his pleading wife and child.
Midway through the beating, Khor fell to the ground, writhing in pain.
The beating continued with multiple strikes to the body and legs. Khor was made to kneel again before the video finally stopped playing.
