A BUSINESSMAN has lodged a report claiming that his daughter was lured by a syndicate into becoming a “club ambassador” to serve customers with VIP status at nightclubs across the Klang Valley, reported Harian Metro.
Datuk Shamsubahrin Ismail, who is the founder and adviser of Big Blue Taxi Facilities Sdn Bhd, said he believed that his 20-year-old daughter was involved in the syndicate.
Young women, especially those in colleges and universities, were offered between RM1,000 and RM2,000 for their “services” per night, working as guest relations officers but are called “club ambassadors” instead, he said.
“I believe my daughter became a club ambassador and quit her studies at a private university after being influenced by friends.
“I don’t think she did it for the money because I provide for all her financial needs. She is no longer in contact with any of her family members,” said Shamsubahrin.
According to him, the last time he saw his daughter was on July 29 when she left the house with a female friend, after which it is believed that she joined a club operating at a condominium complex in the city centre.
“I will go all out to fight this syndicate and stop its activities, not just for my daughter but for all the other victims who were duped,” he said after lodging a report at the Bukit Beruntung police station.
Many parents, he said, were unaware of the real situation and did not understand the true meaning of working as a “club ambassador”.
