Tuanku Muhriz gives state awards

KUALA PILAH: The Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir, conferred the state award of Darjah Mulia Negeri Sembilan (DMNS) to Faridah Hanom Jaafar which carries the title “Tok Puan”.
Tok Puan Faridah Hanom is the wife of Undang Luak Johol Datuk Muhammad Abdullah.
The conferment, made in conjunction with the ruler’s 69th birthday celebration, was held at the Yellow Room, Istana Besar Seri Menanti here yesterday.
Gracing the occasion were Tunku Ampuan Besar Negri Sembilan Tuanku Aishah Rohani Almarhum Tengku Besar Mahmud, Tunku Besar Seri Menanti Tunku Ali Redhauddin and Tunku Zain Al’Abidin.

Also present were another three of the four princes, territorial chieftains, Tunku Besar Tampin and Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and wife Datin Seri Raja Salbiah Tengku Nujumudin.
After the ceremony, Tuanku Muhriz presented state awards and medals to 104 recipients at the Throne Room of the palace.
Earlier, it was reported that Tuanku Muhriz’s birthday celebration was earlier scheduled to be held on Jan 14 but was postponed to yesterday.
Mohamad said the decision to postpone the celebration was made after taking into consideration the first anniversary of Tuanku Muhriz’s son Tunku Alif Hussein Saifuddin Al-Amin’s death on Jan 15.
Jan 14 is the official birthday for Negri Sembilan Yang Dipertuan Besar and is a public holiday in the state. — Bernama
