Nine arrested over abduction of two women in Johor

JOHOR BARU: Police have arrested nine people over the extortion and kidnapping of two individuals.
Johor Baru South OCPD ACP Sulaiman Salleh said six of the suspects were arrested when a team from the criminal investigation department raided a house in Skudai at around 6pm on Wednesday.
"At the house, we found two women, an Indian national aged 43 and a 49-year-old Malaysian, being held by the suspects.
"Initial investigations led to the arrest of another three suspects," he said in a press statement on Friday.
He said the nine suspects, aged between 17 and 26 years of age, were still being detained to facilitate investigations.
ACP Sulaiman added that police also seized a Perodua Alza belonging to the victims, a Perodua Myvi, 12 mobile phones, one automated teller machine card, a parang and RM750 in cash.
