Airport limo driver dies, policeman critically hurt in crash near Sepang




The limo driver died on the spot while his passenger suffered serious injuries to his jaw and neck.


SEPANG: An airport limo driver perished, while his passenger was critically injured, when the vehicle they were travelling in crashed into a trailer on the Elite Highway.

Police have identified the deceased as Ahmad Fazli Mohd Junid, 38, while the passenger has been identified as Nelson Katinggang, 22, a police constable from Seremban.

Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Aziz Ali said the limo was heading from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Seremban when it crashed into the back of a trailer carrying fertiliser at about 11.40pm Tuesday.

"The trailer was travelling on the left lane from Kuala Lumpur to Nilai, when it was rear-ended by the limo.



"The limo driver died on the spot, while his passenger suffered serious injuries to his jaw and neck. The trailer driver was unhurt.

"The accident happened on a hilly road. It was dark, but the weather was good," he explained.

Ahmad Fazli's remains were sent to Hospital Putrajaya for a post-mortem. Police have informed his family of his death.

Nelson is currently receiving treatment at Hospital Seremban.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.
