Proclamation of Selangor Crown Prince concludes

KLANG: The ceremonial proclamation of the Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah concluded on Saturday with the Crown Prince returning to the state after being away for a week.
According to the Selangor royal tradition, the Raja Muda was required to leave the state immediately upon his proclamation on Oct 8 and return seven days later.
Tengku Amir, 26, returned to the Selangor royal court to pay allegiance to his father Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
He also presented Sultan Sharafuddin with a gift as per the ceremonial requirement.
Upon paying allegiance to Sultan Sharafuddin, the Raja Muda took his seat on the right had side of the Ruler on the royal dais.

Tengku Amir’s proclamation ceremony was history in the making as the last time the event took place was when Sultan Sharafuddin was formally installed as the Raja Muda in 1970.The next time the ceremony takes place will be decades later when Tengku Amir’s heir is proclaimed as Selangor’s next Raja Muda.
