SETIU: A 52-year-old single mother was beat up with a rubber hose, and had chili power scrubbed onto her private parts in a bizarre assault case in Kampung Gong Tengah Dua, on Sunday.

The incident is believed to have started on Sunday night when the woman received a visit at her home at 9pm.

A woman, accompanied by her two sons and a daughter, had shown up at her doorstep and demanded to talk to her. When she obliged, they bundled her into a pickup truck.

It was claimed that the woman was then beat up with a rubber hose in the truck by all four people.

They also scrubbed chili powder onto her private parts.

It was learnt that her ordeal lasted about an hour.

The woman was then sent to her friend's house in Kampung Banggol. Her friend took her to the Besut Hospital and she was later transferred to the HUSM in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan.

District police chief Deputy Superintendent Elias Abubakar said three suspects were detained yesterday and another woman was picked up today.

Elias said all the suspects were being held to assist police's probe.

He said police are investigating the motive of the attack.

"We are investigating the motive of the attack", he said.
