BANGKOK: A 23-year-old woman from Thailand was the first contestant in the country to be chosen for a Thai edition of South Korean plastic surgery reality TV show, Let Me In Thailand which showcases spectacular real life cases of total facial transformations, a local online news portal reported.
According to the report, the first episode of the TV show tells the story of how Lin's life changed dramatically when she initially flew to South Korea earlier to undergo plastic surgery.
Lin, who was previously too embarrassed to take a selfie is now confident enough to pose in front of the camera.
It is understood that Lin, is a college dropout as she did not complete her studies due to financial constraints.
Her family earns a monthly income of THB5,000 (RM600) and could not afford to pay for the tuition fees.
To make matters worse, it was reported that Lin has been searching unsuccessfully for a new job due to her looks.
"I need a decent job. I wish to give my mother a better life," the portal reported her as saying.
After being chosen as a contestant for the show, surgeons performed extensive work on Lin’s entire face, with her jawline the biggest challenge for doctors.
"I like it a lot," Lin said when she saw her face for the first time.
"I'm overwhelmed. It's the best opportunity I've been given in my life," she added.
