KUALA LUMPUR: Police fired three shots at a car near Pasar Borong Kuala Lumpur after it broke through a police roadblock.
Sentul OCPD Asst Comm R. Munusamy said the incident occurred at around 9.30pm on Friday.
"My personnel were conducting a roadblock in front of Pasar Borong when a Naza Citra approached them.
"The car accelerated and broke through the roadblock and police personnel gave chase.
"One of the passengers in the car jumped out of the speeding vehicle and managed to escape before police blocked the car," he told reporters when met at the scene.
He said the driver had then tried to ram police personnel upon being blocked causing them to open fire.
"They fired three shots at the vehicle but the driver managed to get out of the car and flee on foot.
"When we checked the car we found that it had not been reported stolen but belonged to a person in Seremban," ACP Munusamy said, adding that police where now tracing the whereabouts of the two suspects.
