    JOHOR BARU:  Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar visited the late Tunku Laksamana Johor Almarhum Tunku Abdul Jalil’s grave at the Mahmoodiah Royal Mausoleum on Monday.
    Sultan Ibrahim arrived at the mausoleum at around 9am where he spent about half an hour reading the Surah Yassin and pouring scented water on Tunku Jalil’s grave before leaving about half an hour later.
    Later Permaisuri Johor Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris Shah visited the mausoleum, accompanied by her youngest son, Tunku Putera Johor Tunku Abu Bakar, and members from the Perak and Selangor royal families.
    They arrived at around 2.45pm where they spent about half an hour reciting the Yassin.
    Tunku Puteri Johor, Tunku Tun Aminah as well as other royal family members arrived at the mausoleum at around 4.30pm
    Earlier Mentri Besar Datuk Mohamed Khaled Nordin also visited the grave together with state exco member Datuk Hasni Mohammad at around 8am.
    Members of the public made their way to the mausoleum to pay their respect to Tunku Abdul Jalil until late evening.
    Among them were Muhmad Tazudin Sukur, 38, who was affected by the down-to-earth prince’s passing.
    “One of my worker’s children is also suffering from cancer and he told me how the prince visited his child at the hospital to give words of encouragement,” he said.
    Housewife Noorasliyati Sukaiman, 38, said she felt as if she lost a close relative.
    “I have been following him for a while on social media…he is very friendly towards all his followers,” she said.
    Tunku Abdul Jalil, 25, passed away on Saturday at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital here after a long battle with cancer.
