JOHOR BARU: Crowd trouble marred Johor Darul Ta'zim’s (JDT) 4-1 victory over Perak at the Larkin Stadium.

The trouble arose when a man fired a flare just as spectators were making their way out of the stadium following the Malaysian Super League match on Wednesday night.

Police quickly moved in to detain the fan in question when a large section of the crowd began shouting vulgarities at the men in blue.

Fans were ordered to disperse immediately but instructions to do so were ignored.

Some spectators then started hurling water bottles and even rocks at the police.

It is learnt that a policeman was injured in the altercation.

The situation was brought under control a short while later.

JDT’s win on Wednesday saw the Southern Tigers open a two-point lead at the top of the league table. JDT are in first place with 46 points, while Pahang are in second place with 44 points.
