PETALING JAYA: Veteran sports presenter Datuk Hasbullah Awang has passed away, apparently due to heart-related complications.
A news portal reported that Hasbullah passed away at the National Heart Institute Thursday due to complications.
He had been undergoing treatment there for the past week.
Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin tweeted his condolences to "the voice of Malaysian sports", saying; "Generations will remember Datuk Hasbullah Awang's voice. Memories of Malaysia's sporting triumphs & failures intertwined with his commentary"
