JOHOR BARU: Immigration Department officials here posing as customers at a massage parlour surprised some female foreign workers on Friday night.
Some Indonesian women working as masseuses here ended up being detained when three of their “customers” and 12 other department personnel raided the two-storey shop lot in an Ops Sayang raid at around 4.55pm on Friday.
The officials were posing as customers in private rooms at a traditional massage centre in Jalan Teratai 7, Taman Johor Jaya here.
Johor Immigration Department assistant deputy director Khairulanuar Abu Bakar, who led the operations, said 10 people in the premises were checked and five of them were detained for not having valid travel documents.
On the same night, the department conducted a separate raid at a food and beverage outlet in Jalan Keris Satu, Taman Sri Tebrau at around 9.45pm and detained seven Philippine and Indonesian nationals.
“The five Filipinas were accompanying their customers while drinking in the premises when we raided the outlet,” he said, adding that two other Indonesian customers were also detained for not having valid travel documents
