Jalan Bukit Bintang stretch closed to traffic because of burst pipe, says MRT Corp

Jalan Bukit Bintang (Tun Razak to Pavilion-bound) between the Jalan Imbi junction and the slip road beside Pavilion Shopping Centre has been closed because of a burst water pipe, says Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) today.
The burst pipe caused a small depression and a 100m stretch of the road was closed to all traffic to minimise any risk to road users.
Work to repair the burst pipe is being carried out. Checks are also being carried out on the other utilities such as electricity and telecommunication cables as well as gas pipes near the location of the depression.
As a result of the closure of this stretch of road, traffic along Jalan Bukit Bintang from Jalan Tun Razak heading to Pavilion is redirected to Jalan Imbi.
Road users can access Jalan Bukit Bintang by using Jalan Walter Grenier or via Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan Raja Chulan.
Traffic from Jalan Raja Chulan can still turn into Jalan Bukit Bintang via the slip road beside Pavilion Shopping Centre.
Traffic from Jalan Raja Chulan can also still make a right turn into Jalan Imbi or proceed straight to Jalan Tun Razak.

Traffic police and the MRT Project Emergency Response Team have been deployed to help direct traffic. – May 6, 2014.
