Belligerent woman escorted off Malindo Air flight to Kuching after making bomb threat

PETALING JAYA: A 41-year-old woman was removed from a flight to Kuching, Sarawak by security at KLIA2.
The incident occurred at about 2.20pm Tuesday when the flight crew was preparing passengers before take-off.
Malindo Air chief communication officer Raja Sa'aadi Raja Amrin confirmed the incident and said the woman was apparently very angry before boarding the flight and had also said there was a bomb on board.
Sepang Deputy OCPD Deputy Supt Zaldino Zaludin said a stewardess asked the woman to move a bag that was placed near her feet on the compartment above the seats when the woman started scolding the stewardess.
"The suspect scolded the stewardess for no reason by using words that were threatening," he said in a statement on Tuesday.
"The stewardess then informed the captain of the matter and the captain called Malaysia Airports Bhd (MAHB) security to remove the suspect from the aircraft," he added.
DSP Zaldino said the aircraft then took off for Kuching at about 4.22pm after a delay of two hours and 22 minutes.
He added that the suspect was from Kuching but was working in the peninsula and was returning home to attend to family matters.
DSP Zaldino said the suspect was arrested at 6.05pm by police and would be remanded under section 506 of the Penal Code.
