Handcuffed Casanova escapes police custody in court compound

GEORGE TOWN: A Casanova, who made headlines by duping at least five women, escaped from police custody.
K. K. Prabaharan, 45, who was still handcuffed then, managed to escape on foot at the court compound here after he was brought in by police escort from Cameron Highlands on Wednesday.

A police officer with the rank of Asst Supt has since been detained to facilitate probe.
Penang police chief Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi said Thursday they believed the fugitive was still in town.

In a report on Jan 15, Penang Commercial Crimes Department chief Asst Comm Roslee Chik said Prabaharan, who claimed to be a doctor in his Facebook profile, would flirt with women by chatting them up at random.
ACP Roslee said that among the names used by Prabaharan on the social networking site were Dr Shiva Nair, Dr Ragunathan Nair Krishanan, Dr Ragunathan, Ragu and Keeran Raj.
