PARIS: As previously announced, France has sent medical aid to the Gaza Strip, said its Defense Minister, Sebastien Lecornu.
In an interview with France Info radio, Lecornu said the second ship sent by France was "equipped to be converted into a hospital ship."
"The idea is to tell all parties in this conflict that we cannot leave civilians exposed to danger, especially without healthcare solutions at the humanitarian level," added Lecornu.
France previously announced it would send its first naval ship to West Asia last week, following President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Israel and other countries in the Middle East. - Agency
