GEORGE TOWN: The police arrested an officer and six policemen on duty in Selangor to assist in the investigation regarding the theft of various items from a man's house in Air Itam, here involving a loss of more than RM10,000 recently.
All of them aged 31 to 55 were arrested last Friday after the police received a report from a man who is also a 40-year-old plumber.
Penang Police Chief Datuk Khaw Kok Chin when contacted by Bernama confirmed the arrest of all the officers and policemen on Nov 10 and they were remanded for a day until yesterday before being released on police bail.
"Further investigations are still underway and the police are completing the investigation papers regarding the case. The case is being investigated in accordance with Section 380 of the Penal Code," he said today.
