A police sergeant was found dead with gunshot wounds at IPD Rembau

REMBAU: A policeman with the rank of Sergeant was found dead with gunshot wounds at the Rembau District Police Headquarters (IPD) here yesterday evening.
In the incident at about 6.30pm, the victim is said to have died from a gunshot wound to the head at the IPD Criminal Investigation Division Office. Negeri Sembilan Police Chief, Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said the 58-year-old victim was also an IPD employee.
"At 6.30 pm yesterday, the IPD Rembau received information regarding a police officer who was found dead covered in blood with a gunshot wound to the head. "The victim's body has been sent to Tuanku Jaafar Hospital (HTJ) Seremban for post-mortem and the case is classified as sudden death while further investigations are underway," he said in a statement here. Commenting further, he said, he also urged the public not to make any speculations regarding the incident. "The police ask the public not to make any statements that could interfere with the police's investigation and to respect the victim's family," he added.
