Flood: Kg Tersang folk urged to be on alert a
fter part of PLSB embankment breaks

KOTA BHARU, Dec 20 (Bernama) -- All residents around Pasir Mas and Tumpat need to be alert beginning tonight after part of the embankment involving the Sungai Golok Integrated River Basin Development (PLSB) project in Kampung Tersang in Pasir Mas broke due to strong current caused by floods.
Kelantan Department of Drainage and Irrigation (DID) Kamal Mustapha said that, as such, they are expecting the flood situation in the area to be worse.
“The 20-kilometre embankment was built in 2018 in the area and was even repaired previously due to cracks caused by floods.
“We received a report at 5 pm today and we couldn’t repair it because of the strong current and the road access was cut,” he said when contacted by Bernama today.
Earlier, a 25-second video clip, which went viral, showed the broken part of the embankment in Kampung Tersang, Pasir Mas, with water swiftly inundating the area.
