GE15: Razalif dropped, Richie BN candidate for Bukit Bendera Parliament
GEORGE TOWN - National Party Cinta Malaysia (PCM) Youth Leader, Richie Huan Xin Yun was selected as the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Bukit Bendera Parliamentary seat.
The matter was announced via PCM President Datuk Huan Cheng Guan's Facebook today.
Richie who is the son of Cheng Guan was named as the new candidate to replace Razalif Mohd. Zain who was dropped from being the BN representative for the seat.
Cheng Guan said that the Supreme Council of the PCM had discussed and found Richie to be the most suitable candidate to represent BN in the seat in the 15th General Election (GE15).
"PCM would like to thank the BN Chairman for giving PCM the opportunity to contest in GE15.
"We have discussed and found that the most suitable candidate for the Bukit Bendera Parliament is the National PCM Youth Leader," he said.
Yesterday, BN announced that Razalif from PCM would contest to represent the party in the Bukit Bendera parliamentary seat.
However, since early this morning there have been rumors about the possibility of Razalif's candidacy to represent BN in the seat being canceled and replaced by another candidate.
According to Cheng Guan, the decision was made after taking into account the demographic position, the welfare of the people and voters in the Bukit Bendera Parliament.
"As a member of Friends of BN, this opportunity definitely means that BN is a very harmonious party combination and is in line with BN's theme in GE15, which is stability and prosperity," he added.
