TAWAU, Aug 26 -- A good deed will never be forgotten.
That would be best to describe Muhammad Aming Salleh Abdullah, a young boy who went viral on social media when he talked about the importance of adhering to the standard operating procedures (SOP) to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
The nine-year-old boy died today and the news of his passing also caught the attention of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob who expressed his condolences to Muhammad Aming’s family.
“Aming was a good and smart little boy. Let us offer the deceased Al-Fatihah,” the Prime Minister wrote on his Facebook page.
Previously, Ismail Sabri, when he was the Senior Minister (Security), had also shared a video of Muhammad Aming urging the public to put on face masks on the social media platform.
Muhammad Aming’s mother, Santi Sabri, 33, when contacted by reporters today said her son, the youngest of four siblings, died at their residence in Jalan Kuhara after experiencing shortness of breath at about 1.30 am.
“My child was healthy as he played around yesterday. In fact, he helped carry things. At about midnight he said he wanted to eat instant noodles but at 1 am he suddenly made a call for prayer and prayed before he breathed his last.
“He often gave me advice. I cannot believe he is no longer around. In fact, it was only recently that he helped me with my business at the Sin Onn market,” she said.
Nevertheless, Santi said she accepted the fate and considered it as a test for the whole family.
Muhammad Aming’s father, Alip Mohamad, 45, said his son was asthmatic and was easily tired.
