PPVs asked to impose standard RM45 charge per vaccine shot under Pikas

PETALING JAYA: Vaccine dispensing centre (PPV) operators have been asked to impose a standard RM45 charge for each dose of Covid-19 vaccine under the Public-Private Partnership Covid-19 Industry Immunisation Programme (Pikas).
This is to ensure that employers do not incur excessive costs for vaccination services, International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said.
"The ministry has requested a standard cost of RM30 for each dose (and) RM15 to be paid to ProtectHealth Corporation Sdn Bhd," he said in a Facebook post on Friday (July 2).
He said the response to Pikas from employers and employees has been encouraging as the main point is not only to guarantee the safety of workers by reducing the number of Covid-19 clusters, but also to ensure that business operations and the economy can be improved.
According to Azmin, 4,537 companies with 669,846 workers in the manufacturing sector nationwide have registered with Pikas as of June 27.
He said the goal is to vaccinate 90% of workers in the sector.
"The ministry is committed to achieve the herd immunity target of two million workers by September," he added.
He said Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had announced a boost for the vaccination programme under the RM150bil National People’s Well-Being and Economic Recovery Package (Pemulih) on Monday (June 28).
"I welcome the good news from the Prime Minister that day as it is a good and pragmatic decision," he said.
Under the Pemulih aid package, the government will allocate an additional RM1bil to hasten the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.
The Prime Minister explained that this would include RM400mil for the purchase of additional vaccines, which would be able to cover 130% of the population compared to 120% coverage previously.
Companies or employers that have yet to register under Pikas may get more information at www.miti.gov.my.

PIKAS mempunyai 2 jenis PPV, iaitu:
1) PPV Penggunaan Umum
