Datin Latifah The Wife of Malaysian Badminton Legend Misbun Sidek Passed Away Late This Evening.





PETALING JAYA: National badminton legend, Datuk Misbun Mohd. lost his wife, Datin Latifah Sidek who passed away, at about 8.45pm.

This was confirmed through the National Sports Council (MSN) by a Twitter around 9pm, but the cause of death was not disclosed.

“It is sad to inform that Yang Berbahagia Datin Latifah, the wife of Datuk Misbun Sidek has returned to rahmatullah just now.

“Let us pray and donate Al-Fatihah for the deceased so that they can be placed with those they love.

“Condolences to Datuk Misbun and his family. Al-Fatihah, ”said MSN through its Twitter tweet.

The President of the Malaysian Olympic Council (OCM), Tan Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria also expressed his condolences on Twitter.


“Condolences to Datuk Misbun Sidek and his family on the passing of his beloved wife. Let us all pray for the late Datin Latifah Bte Sidek to be placed among the pious. Al-Fatihah, ”said Mohamad Norza.

Previously, Latifah was admitted to a ward at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) because she tested positive for Covid-19.

Misbun and Latifah married in 1987 and had six children, Misbun Syawal, Lia Murni, Misbun Ramdan, Lia Alifah, Lia Dewi Rubita, and Misbun Awalauddin.

A close source to the family said Datin Latifah went into an induced coma after the virus spread to her lungs.
