Five years after being recognised as Malaysia’s tallest man, Mohd Azli Hisyam Ab Ghafar’s height has reached 2.2m, reported Metro Ahad.
Mohd Azli, 25, was recognised in the Malaysia Book of Records in 2014 as the country’s tallest man at 2.11m.
Mohd Azli, from Gua Musang, said that while he was used to his height, living as the country’s tallest person brought with it its own difficulties.
“I face difficulties in looking for clothes. Usually, I have to wear clothes in XXXXL sizes and I often have to custom order my clothes and shoes,” he said.
He has to be careful when moving so as not to hit his head on ceilings.
He started growing faster than other children when he was 14, putting on 20cm to reach 157cm at that time.
“After that, I kept growing almost every day,” he said.
He said doctors had found a growth in his nerves that could explain his abnormal growth.
He went through an operation to remove the growth in October last year.
