Cambodian man charged with murdering girl

ROMPIN: A Cambodian man was charged with the murder of a 11-year-old girl whose body was found decomposed and mutilated some 10 days after she went missing.

Mohd Amirul Abdullah, 23, was accused of murdering Siti Masitah Ibrahim in a bush in Kampung Tanjung Medang Hilir, Pekan, between 5.50pm and 8pm on Jan 30.


The charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code carries the death penalty.

Mohd Amirul only nodded his head indica­ting that he understood the charge read out to him in front of magistrate Azizah Ahmad.

The court fixed March 25 for mention as well as for the submission of the chemistry, post-mortem and forensic reports.

Mohd Amirul was represented by Ahmad Deniel Roslan while DPP Syamsul Kahar Ah­mad Nadri appeared for the prosecution.

Siti Masitah’s decomposed body was found in an undergrowth some 3km from her house on Feb 9.

A DNA test was carried out to confirm the body’s identity.
