Cardiff City are reportedly ready to sue agent Willie McKay after he admitted inflating Emiliano Sala's transfer fee.

Sala's body was found on board the missing private jet that was carrying him from Nantes to Cardiff .

The striker had returned to his former club to bid farewell to his teammates just days after completing a £15m move to south Wales.

Cardiff are yet to make the initial payment to Nantes as they look to gather all of the facts behind the deal.

It was reported this weekend that they had been in contact with Premier League clubs for help regarding the £15m payment.

Willie McKay admitted in leaked e-mails to Sala that he had inflated his price by confirming interest from elsewhere.

Everton , West Ham , Crystal Palace , Burnley , Wolves and Fulham were all reported to be interested.

The Mail claims at least one of those clubs said there was no interest and they had never even watched Sala.

Cardiff chiefs are said to view the admission by McKay as 'price manipulation' and owner Vincent Tan may pursue a legal case against the agent.

The Bluebirds could claim McKay was representing Nantes in the deal and therefore indicate the French club were in some way responsible for the flight.

But while Cardiff claim McKay has no relationship with the club, he is actually believed to be well known to boss Neil Warnock.
