Azmin: Tun Abdul Razak would have been upset at what Felda has become

SEMENYIH: Tun Abdul Razak would have been upset if he saw what happened to Felda today, says Datuk Seri Azmin Ali (pic).
The Economic Affairs Minister said Felda, under the governance of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had faltered so badly, to the extent of incurring RM8bil in debt.
"We support the late Tun Abdul Razak's efforts in establishing Felda. Government land was given to Felda settlers so that their economic status can be elevated and the wealth disparity can be reduced.
"But after his son (Najib) came in... the son goes on and privatised Felda.
Azmin, who is Pakatan Harapan vice-president, also lashed out at detractors for accusing the coalition of being anti-Malay.
"Just look at the shares of FGV (Felda Global Ventures) today. From RM4.70, it has gone to 30 sen or 40 sen.
"Who managed Felda? Their debt has gone to RM8bil, we cannot believe that they can incur so much debt.
"Its chairman is Malay, its board of directors are Malays.
"It's not chaired by Lim Kit Siang or Lim Guan Eng. Why do you need to blame DAP? The Malays had the power and position to be chairman and minister, but the Malays went on to betray fellow Malays. I urge the people of Semenyih to reject Umno in this by-election," said Azmin.
The ceramah was part of Pakatan's campaign for the Semenyih by-election.
Other speakers at the ceramah were Pakatan deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Selangor Mentri Besar Amirudin Shari and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia information chief Radzi Jidin.
Pakatan's Muhammad Aiman Zainali will be up against Barisan Nasional's Zakaria Hanafi, Parti Sosialis Malaysia's Nik Aziz Afiq Abdul and independent candidate Kuan Chee Heng.
