Police probe woman threatening council officer with steering lock
PETALING JAYA: The incident of a woman seen threatening a municipal council officer with a steering lock in a viral video will be investigated by police.
Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Megat Mohamad Aminuddin Megat Alias said the woman will be questioned under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
It is believed that the shouting match erupted after the officer clamped the woman's car for parking illegally in front of a restaurant.
The officer, clad in a Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) vest, calmly explained to the woman that she had parked in a wrong spot.
Despite the explanation, the woman continued with her angry tirade while waving the steering lock at the officer.
ACP Megat Mohamad Aminudin said the car was towed to a depot in Puchong.
"The woman's husband later showed up and paid the fine at the municipal council and apologised for his wife's rude behaviour," he said, adding that the police will still be investigating the case.
