Trio robs woman in launderette, makes off with RM15,000 loot
GOMBAK: Police are searching for three robbers who terrorised patrons at a launderette in Taman Sri Gombak recently.
In a video that has cropped up on social media, two men wearing motorcycle helmets are seen entering the launderette as customers wait for their washing to finish on Friday night.
Suddenly, one of the men approaches a woman and demands that she gives up her valuables while threatening her with a machete.
The robber grabs her handbag and then directs the woman to a corner of the shop, urging her to give up more valuables.
When she refuses, a third robber comes in armed with a machete and removes jewellery from the woman's wrist before fleeing.
Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Ali Ahmad said the woman later lodged a police report and claimed to have suffered about RM15,000 in losses after she lost her mobile phone, over RM1,000 in cash, identification documents and jewellery.
"We are tracking down the suspects," he said when contacted.
The case is being investigated for gang robbery
