GELANG PATAH: Country Garden Pacificview Sdn Bhd (CGPV), the developer of Forest City, signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) today with 21 new partners, most of which are local companies and organisations.

The new partners include SAJ Ranhill Sdn Bhd, Tiong Nam Logistics, University of Reading and the Malaysian Healthcare Travel Council.

CGPV executive director Datuk Md Othman Yusof said the collaborations reflect the positive spill-over from the Forest City development.

"Forest City strives to contribute to the Johor economy and to (bring) various opportunities to the people.

"It has been two years since our inception and we have accomplished overwhelming achievements that would not have been possible without the collaboration of our synergy partners to realise our vision of becoming the prime model of future cities," said Othman.

The MoU signing was witnessed by Tunku Mahkota of Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, who was accompanied by his consort, Che Puan Khaleeda Bustamam.

Also present were Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, CGPV executive chairman Datuk Daing Abdul Malek Daing Abdul Rahaman and Country Garden Holdings Ltd chief executive officer Mo Bin.

The event also saw Tunku Ismail unveiling the design of the new stadium for the Johor Darul Ta'zim football club (JDT).

The stadium will have a capacity of 40,000 and feature a natural grass field, an advanced sound system, and a live broadcast system.

"The groundworks for the stadium have already started and we hope to complete construction by the end of next year," said Othman.

He said CGPV is also planning to build a sports centre and a commercial centre to complement the stadium.

Tunku Ismail also revealed Forest City’s latest landmark building, Carnelian Tower, which comprises three skyscrapers and four commercial podiums
